Lamoille Waste Warriors Training

The Lamoille Regional Solid Waste Management District (LRSWMD) is looking for passionate and motivated members of the Master Composter community to help educate Lamoille waste district community members about Vermont’s Universal Recycling & Composting law (Act 148). As we move closer to the implementation of a statewide organics (food waste, leaf/yard debris) disposal ban in July 2020, community outreach and education will become increasingly important to help Vermonters understand and comply with Act 148 in their day-to-day lives.

In order to address the growing need of community outreach and education about organics diversion and proper recycling, we created a new volunteer program, the LRSWMD Waste Warriors, that begins this spring and needs you! LRSWMD Waste Warriors are trained and equipped with the knowledge to have meaningful conversations about composting and recycling with community members at our LRSWMD transfer stations. Volunteers will help community members fight climate change by educating about waste reduction through proper disposal of food waste and recycling in their homes and greater community.
