A VTrans official, Matt Bogaczyk, will be attending a Selectboard meeting at 7PM on Thursday, March 16, to discuss proposed signage changes along Fairfield Road. Some background:
"The sites to be included in the VTrans High Risk Rural Roads program each year are identified based on crash history and regional planning commission input. The site in Fletcher was identified in 2013. The Town was contacted regarding the possibility of including the Fairfield Road site and the Town expressed interest in the program as indicated on the attached that was signed by you in April of 2013.
A site visit was then conducted on August 15, 2013 that included VTrans, the RPC and Terry Riggs who was on the Selectboard at the time. VTrans then developed sketches for Town review based on the site visit. Town review of the sketches resulted in the attached project scope sign off from October 7, 2013."
Plans are available for review at the Town Office (a larger regional plan containing Fletcher is available online). The project is 100% federal funded and the State will be paying the contractor directly, so there is no Town share for construction.
