Town Meeting at School; Charter Letter; E. Calais Grant

Past event
Mar 7, 2017

Town Meeting is Tuesday, March 7, at the CALAIS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL at 9am. The school meeting is first with the town meeting immediately following. Lunch will be served by Historic Kents Corner; you’ve probably already been asked to donate food! The town office is closed that day.

The town office will also be closed on Wednesday and Thursday, March 15 and 16, for radon mitigation work.

Charter letter – If you did not receive a letter from the Selectboard (and me) about the town charter and the reasons for it, send me an email and I’ll email you a copy. I’ll be in and out of the office over the weekend and will check my email. There will be copies at town meeting also. The charter question will be on the ballot.

Grant for East Calais – Support for a Better Connections Grant for East Calais will be voted on at town meeting from the floor. Planning Commission member Jan Ohlsson and Selectboard Chair Denise Wheeler were interviewed by Channel 22 about the grant. Here is a link to a written synopsis of the interview. I could also email you a summary description of the project from the grant application http://www.mychamplainvalley.com/news/safer-roads-community-development-in-calais/660468466
