Tom Atkins at Canfield Gallery in March

The Canfield Gallery in Arlington is happy to announce its exhibition for the month of March will
feature the paintings of Tom Atkins, an artist, photographer, poet and writer.
Atkins is leadership trainer and coach through the John Maxwell Team and Quarry House in West
Pawlet, Vermont, and a bi-vocational pastor at Rupert United Methodist Church.

Creating art for the past 30 years, Atkins works in watercolor, oil, pencil and pen and ink. His pen and ink
drawings derive from real places — castles, mansions, cottages, spiritual spaces, and abandoned
buildings long fallen into ruin and disrepair. His watercolor and oil paintings, however, come from less tangible sources.
“My paintings are like poems,” says Atkins, “capturing an essence of mood with color, line and space.”

The public is invited to the opening reception on Saturday, March 4, from 3 to 5. His work will be on view
in the art gallery of the Canfield Memorial Library on East Arlington Road until March 30. Library hours are Tues. and Thurs.
9 - 8; Wed. 9 - 5; Fri. 2 - 6; and Sat. 10 - 3. For more information call 375-6153 or visit marthacanfieldlibrary.org
