Want to learn how to play the ukulele? Check out the two adult uke classes that I'm teaching through CVU Access, starting Tuesday, March 14 -- one for beginners, the other for folks who have a little experience and want to dig a little deeper and gain confidence playing along with others:

Intro to Ukulele - Tuesdays 5:30-6:30 p.m. 8 weeks Starts March 14, 2017
Ukuleles are a hoot. They make new friends and spread great waves of joy wherever they go. Want to learn how to play one so you can join in the fun? What a coincidence! This class will help you do just that. You'll learn the basics and soon be playing tunes that fit in perfectly around the campfire and family gatherings. You'll learn how to make chords, strum smoothly, and gain confidence in playing for yourself and others. Bring a ukulele, an electronic tuner (recommend brand: Snark clip-on), and an adventurous spirit. Typical class size ~ 6 to 12. Sign up here: http://cvuweb.cvuhs.org/access/indexv16i2.html#a339

Get Yourself Into a Jam With Your Ukulele: How to Play Well with Others
Tuesdays 6:45-7:45 p.m. 8 weeks Starts March 14, 2017
Do you have a little ukulele know-how at your fingertips? Wondering how to use those skills to play music with others at sing-alongs, family gatherings, and the like? Well, it's easier than you think! Geared for ukulele players who are already comfortable switching among basic chords and keeping a steady strum, this class will help you learn tunes by heart, join in on unfamiliar songs with increased confidence, lead a song in a jam session, and generally play well with others. For ukuleles in the common high-G ("re-entrant") tuning. Ukes in other tunings (including low-G, baritone, and lefties) are welcome but you will need to be able to translate the chords and tablature yourself. Being comfortable with these chords will help tremendously: G, G7, C, C7, D, D7, D minor, F, E7, A, A7, A minor, B). Typical class size ~ 6 to 18.
