Tuesday, October 29th, 6-8pm: Recruiting for Peace Training at the Peace & Justice Center, 60 Lake St., Burlington. The Peace & Justice Center is hosting a training for community members who want to work towards the cultivation of peace and compassion in our youth! Military recruiters have unprecedented access to high school students, but as a recruiter for peace you will learn to question their approach and messages. In this workshop, you will gain the skills and resources (including a counter-recruitment kit!) to connect with young people and discuss peaceful, meaningful alternatives to the military. This training will be led by PJC staff, members of Veterans for Peace, and Dr. John Reuwer, Peace and Justice faculty at Saint Michael's College, who has studied and taught alternatives to violence for 30 years.
