Jeudevine Library, Craftsbury Library, Greensboro Free Library, the Craftsbury and the Chamber Players are doing a series of programs tied into the book, Symphony for the City of the Dead: Dmitri Shostakovich and the siege of Leningrad by M. T. Anderson. The program series is called: Tyranny and Hope. To kick off the events the French-American film Enemy at the Gates will be shown at the Jeudevine Library on Tuesday, March 14 at 6:30 PM.

"Enemy at the Gates is a 2001 American-French war film written and directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud. The film's title is taken from William Craig's nonfiction book Enemy at the Gates: The Battle for Stalingrad (1973), which describes the events surrounding the Battle of Stalingrad in the winter of 1942/43. Although fictional, the film is loosely based on war stories told by Soviet sniper Vasili Zaitsev." ( Source: Wikepedia)

The film stars Jude Law, Joseph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz, and is directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud. It lasts 131 minutes. There will be refreshments and discussion following the film.
