Shibori and Indigo: Weekend Workshop

Shibori and Indigo Workshop
What is Shibori? It is a traditional Japanese form of resist dyeing, using stitching, wrapping, folding of fabric before you dye it, to create contemporary or tradtional patterns and designs. After preparing your fabric for the dye pot, after dipping it, drying it, dipping it again and perhaps again, you experience the magical quality of Shibori. Each design is unique; you never know just how your creation will emerge.

If this process intrigues you, join us for a two day workshop at the new Green Tara Space (the newly renovated, old Catholic Church in North Hero) on June 10 and 11, 2017. This workshop, taught by Kathy Goddu, an experienced Shibori teacher and artisan, welcomes beginners and people already working with indigo and Shibori. The only requirement is that you are able to use a needle and thread and come with an open mind to “Learn, Play and Experiment!”

For more information, contact Ellen Dorsch, in Grand Isle (edorsch@together.net), or Kathy Goddu (in Brunswick, ME) artisticendeavors.goddu@gmail.com, or take a look at Kathy’s website, kathleengoddu.com for details about the workshop.
