Wildlife Tracking Club Sunday

Past event
Feb 19, 2017, 1 to 4 PM

The Burlington Tracking Club gathers monthly to look for wildlife track and sign in different natural areas in and around Burlington, VT. Gatherings are free, informal, and open to all experience levels. The goal is to connect with Burlington's wildlife and learn from each other as we explore.

February will feature an exploration of the Intervale, starting from the parking lot opposite the Tommy Thompson Community Garden on Intervale Rd (this is 2nd of two parking areas for folks accessing the Intervale walking and ski trails, as you head north up Intervale Rd. Continue past the first parking area, following signs for the community garden).

Depending on weather and snow conditions, we may head east towards the banks of the Winooski River or we may head west towards the extensive wetlands and wooded patches beyond the farm fields.

Dress warmly in consideration of a slow pace. Tall, warm and waterproof boots suitable for off-trail travel recommended. Snowshoes might be helpful if the snow doesn't all melt away by Sunday (not a requirement, but bring if you have them). Bring water and/or a hot beverage, notebook and ruler/measuring tape optional.
