Saturday, 10am - 2pm
Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park and the Woodstock Inn invite you to join us for a FREE winter adventure opportunity.
This Saturday, snowshoe with a park ranger up the forested slopes of Mount Tom to the nordic ski shelter (bring your own water and lunch), then join a Woodstock Inn Nordic Center instructor for a scenic kick-and-glide around the Pogue. This program is great for:
* Fit beginners wanting to try out snowshoes or cross-country skis
* Visitors to Woodstock seeking a classic New England winter experience
* Locals who'd like to get out and enjoy all the *amazing* snow in the park
All equipment provided free of charge thanks to a grant from the National Park Foundation for the Boots to Boats initiative (encouraging recreation on the Upper Valleys public lands and waters).
Program is limited to 12 participants - call the Woodstock Inn Nordic Center at 802-457-6674 to reserve your spot!
Logistics: Park and meet at the Woodstock Inn Nordic Center by 10am Saturday morning. Get fitted for XC skis, then ride the Woodstock Inn shuttle over to the Prosper trailhead. Get fitted for snowshoes and hit the trail! Your skis will be transported to the ski shelter for an after-lunch loop around the Pogue. After the ski, snowshoe back down to the trailhead, take the shuttle back to the Nordic Center, and drive on to your next adventure.
