Please join us on Wednesday the 15th for the next film in our series: One Big Home.
Coast to coast, people are placing limits on mansions and determining the destiny of their communities.
Yesterday's LA Times wrote about it and on December 22, town counsel for the tiny Cape Cod town of Truro, approved the proposed limits that townspeople will vote on in April.
In the mountain village of Woodstock, Vermont they are fighting to keep the historic character of their homes. Jennifer Henaghan, the deputy research director at the American Planning Association, is quoted in the article, “It’s up to the communities to ensure that their requirements are in line with what the community wants.”
So whether or not you like mansions, agree or disagree with historic districts, you can't argue with the fact that all across America, people are standing up to preserve their sense of place!
