Hey everyone! If you missed the Barre City Rock Chorus (Rock 'n Roll and Soul) on Jan 26, come to the State House for Farmers' Night this Wed for a repeat performance of '70's Music. The VT Historical Society asked us to do this music in support of their exhibit “Freaks, Radicals, and Hippies: Counterculture in 1970s Vermont.” We also have an incredible band to keep the beat and for you to move to. Fleetwood Mac, Beach Boys, Raggae, Stevie Wonder, Carole King and you name it!
You’ll definitely want to sing along as director John Harrison showcases an evening of songs drawn from popular culture and counterculture from the late 1960s and early 1970s. The Barre City Rock Chorus is a rock and soul chorus that features Vermonters who harmonize and sing together to pop music from the ‘50s through the 2000s.
Following the concert, join us for a small reception in the Cedar Creek Room and meet the staff of the Vermont Historical Society! Ask them any questions you may have about the Society and their work while enjoying an assortment of cookies and some cider.
SO, Join the Vermont Historical Society for an evening celebrating the music of the 1970s with the Barre City Rock Chorus!
This program is part of the ongoing celebration of the Vermont Historical Society’s new exhibit, “Freaks, Radicals, and Hippies: Counterculture in 1970s Vermont.”
Never been to the State House? This is a great chance to sit in the House chambers and see what a beautiful building we have. Hope to see you Wed at 7:30 pm!
