Don’t Keep Quiet! : Community Sing and Resistance Brainstorm, Monday Feb 13, 7 pm, Simpson Hall, Sterling College, Craftsbury Vermont.

Were you inspired by the Women’s March and looking to take the next step? Join us for an evening of song and brainstorm. Local singing group Farm Song (Kristin Urie, Jeff Fellinger, Emily Gletsos and Maria Schumann) will teach the unofficial Women’s March Anthem, “I Can’t Keep Quiet”. This powerful acapella song was written by Los Angeles based artist MILCK as a response to an abusive relationship. It was sung in flash mobs at the Women’s March in Washington D.C. by women who had never met each other, and had practiced the song via skype. The composer MILCK has said she envisioned the song as being both a source of healing for women unsettled by the election and a call to action. After learning the song, we will break into groups for a short political action brainstorming session. Singers of all abilities and genders welcome! For more info, call 586-2059. Check out the video of the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeQD9QwYC5M
