Taste of Worcester II and Intimate Concert

Join your neighbors for the most anticipated event of the year! The Taste of Worcester II will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2 beginning at 5 p.m. Seven of Worcester’s premier chefs/caterers will be offering some of their most delectable dishes. Following the tasting, three fantastic musicians, including acclaimed singer songwriter Tom Brosseau, Worcester’s own Kris Gruen and, returning to the area, Rachel Ries, all of whom will perform an intimate show upstairs in the Worcester Town Hall.

Brosseau is an LA-based songwriter and folksinger who has toured extensively as a solo artist, supporting Punch Brothers, PJ Harvey and Nickel Creek. He is now touring in support of his new single, "Cradle Your Device" which debuted on Oct. 1 on NPR's “All Songs Considered.” The tasting will include food donated by: Bon Temps Gourmet with a tapas buffet, including Spanish-style chicken wings with garlic and saffron, Bayley-Hayzen savory brulee with blue cheese and pears, and warm pumpkin dip with spiced yogurt; Worcester Community Kitchen with Asian noodle salad, sesame seitan stir fry, sweet and sour kielbasa, mixed greens salad and baked beans; Some Like it Hot! Catering will feature New Orleans jambalaya and stuffed mushrooms; Barefoot BBQ - operated by the owners of Uncle Mike’s Deli - will provide chili, macaroni and cheese, and cookies; Free Reign Bistro will offer a variety of artisan breads and butters; Jasbir Kaur, one of the owners of LBJ's and The India House restaurant in Burlington, will have spicy dahl with lentil and vegetables; the Post Office Café will have assorted sweets and coffee.

The cost for all of this great food is just $12.50 per adult and five dollars for children under 12; just $40 for a family of 4 with children over 12. To enjoy the three great musicians after the meal costs just $10 per adult, but you can save a little bit and for just $20 per adult, you get dinner and a show.

Dining will be from 5 to 7 p.m. with the show beginning immediately afterwards. All proceeds are for the Worcester Town Hall kitchen renovation project. Don’t miss this fantastic event and remember to bring a friend!
