Preview of October 28 City Council Meeting

Past event
Oct 28, 6 PM to 12 AM, Oct 29, 2013

Dear Neighbors,

This Monday, the City Council will convene a special meeting to debate two resolutions on the basing of the F-35 at the Burlington International Airport.

The Council meeting will begin at 6pm with a one hour public forum devoted solely to the F-35 resolutions we will be voting on later Monday evening.

We will convene the Council meeting with the approval of the agenda at 7pm. We will then continue our public forum for an additional one hour of public comment. Should there be more people who have yet to speak by 8pm, the Council could then determine by vote whether to continue the public comment period.

Following the public forum, the Council will debate two resolutions on the F-35. The first resolution respectfully asks the City to tell the Vermont Air National Guard and the Federal government that the basing will not be permitted at our Airport. The second resolution respectfully opposes the F-35 basing at our Airport during the first basing round.

We expect to have an Executive Session on collective bargaining at the end of our evening.

If you would like to read the two resolutions or other items on the agenda, a clickable agenda items can be found on the City's website:

As always, I welcome your questions and concerns. Please email or give me a call tomorrow, Friday, over the weekend or on Monday.

All my best,
Karen
