"Meet and greet with city council candidate Charles Winkleman"
Event: Feb 9, 2017, 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM
92 Brookes Ave., Thursday, Feb. 9, 7-8 PM
This year's Town Meeting Day elections will be of great importance to our neighborhood, city and state. For Ward 1, it will be our first chance to officially express our opinions on the direction of our country. While we can't vote directly on national immigration policy, or human, civil, environmental or economic rights, we can weigh in, Vermont-style on the local level where all politics should start.
From a minimum wage that moves towards liveability, a responsive approach to the city's development, keeping our local telecom local, and the need for the city to push the state towards sound school financing, we have a lot to consider, and we elect a City Councilor!
Charles Winkleman, the Progressive candidate for City Council, will come and talk with us on these and other issues. As an early childhood educator, he is constantly working with kids and parents, and has a unique and important perspective on how our policies affect families. He is dedicated to serving the city and will make a great replacement for Progressive Councilor Selene Colburn, representing our east-side (Wards 1 & 8) neighborhoods.
Please stop by to share information and a few refreshments."
