(Posting for Gary Beckwith from Richmond)

Hello!

This is a reminder that I will be giving an informative and inspiring presentation/slideshow at the Richmond Free Library about my coming trip to Haiti to install a solar energy system on a remote medical clinic. I leave on March 10th and there is so much to do and plan before I go... I will have pictures and stories to tell about how I got involved in this project, the current status, our plans to install the system (both technical and functional), and a few stories and photos from my past trips to Haiti.

Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Most people there do not have the basic things we take for granted every day, such as running water, electricity, clean water to drink, a sewage system, or access to medical care. Come to the Library to learn more about Haiti and the little things I'm trying to do to make life better for a few people there.

The event is free. Donations will be accepted and appreciated, as we still have not raised the amount we need to fully fund the project. The "Change Haiti Jar" will be there so if you have a can full of change on your dresser, bring it along and help us fill up the jar! We expect that if we can fill the jar that will just about close the gap on the money we still need to raise.

Coffee, tea, and baked goods will be served :)

The presentation is this Tuesday, February 7th, at 7:00. Hope to see you there. Call if you have any questions.
