History and Ecology on Rail Trail with SHLT

Past event
Feb 11, 2017, 10 to 11:30 AM

If we know where to look, the history of human settlement in South Hero can be seen in our landscape long after the farms and businesses are gone. Learn to see the signs of our history, and read the story of the continuing impact of lost homesteads, farms, factories, and rail lines on today's natural landscape. On Saturday, February 11th, from 10:00-11:30 AM join South Hero Land Trust for our first Naturalist Walk of 2017, and learn to see the signs of human history on today's landscape. We'll be joined by guest historians Terry Robinson and Samantha Ford, for a historical tour of the Rail Trail.

Meet promptly at 10:00 AM at the northern end of the South Hero Recreation Path, at the corner of Tracy and Station Roads. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy boots. RSVPs are welcome but not required. Contact Emily at emily@shlt.org for directions or to RSVP.
