The Craftsbury Energy Committee will host a presentation on the nuts and bolts and financing of solar electricity on Wed., Feb. 15th, 7 - 8:30 PM at the Craftsbury Public Library.
Rich Nicol, who owns the Sutton, Vt. company, Solartech, will show us the simplicity of how solar electric works, discuss federal tax incentives and the new state renewable energy regulations. The discussion will also consider recent trends in cost and paybacks, as well as technological advances, including the viability of the new batteries available for energy storage. Rich has 10 years of experience building both grid-tied and off grid solar installations within the residential, commercial, and municipal areas.
Vt. State Employees Credit Union (VSECU) will also give a presentation on how their "no upfront payment, discounted, fixed rate loans" can make it very affordable to go solar electric.
