On August 15, 2013 Aisha Malik, a beloved, long time resident of Lamoille County (LUHS class of 2003), was struck by a motorcycle while crossing a street on foot in Lahaina, HI. She suffered life threatening injuries and spent 1 week in the ICU at Maui Memorial Medical Center before taking a Medivac flight to Honolulu where the hospital was better equipped to care for her. A little over two months after the accident, Aisha is no longer considered critical and is back in Maui where she continues to receive care at a skilled nursing facility.
With multiple life saving surgeries behind her, Aisha is now facing one of her biggest hurdles yet, rehabilitation. Please help see Aisha through her recovery by joining our creative VT community at The Bee’s Knees’ “Art for Aisha” benefit, being held Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 7-10pm. An enthralling evening of live music, exceptional food and beverage, a silent art auction and video shout outs to Aisha will be had.
If you don't feel like buying art try making it instead. Blank postcards and art supplies will be available for those wishing to make art for Aisha. 100% of the silent art auction proceeds will go directly to Aisha Malik.
