Sue Cain of Royalton will speak on “Not Your Mother’s Bedspread: a look at the making of early- to mid-19th century textiles for the bedroom,” Friday at 7 p.m. at the Tunbridge Library Winter Evenings program. In addition to talking about what it took to dress a bed, Cain will bring samples from her collection of coverlids, blankets and sheets and invites attendees to bring their woven textiles.

She studied weaving and spinning at the Marshfield (Vt.) School of Weaving and has worked in the museum field for over 30 years in a wide range of jobs, including interpreting history through programming, curatorial work and guiding tours at museums in New Hampshire, Vermont and in the Midwest. Refreshments will follow the free talk.
