Come enjoy a child-centered celebration welcoming in the Year of the Rooster at the Lake Champlain Waldorf School. Chinese New Year is an exciting time for sweeping away bad luck and welcoming in good fortune. There will be a dragon parade, goldfish kite making, and a Chinese folktale. All children will leave with a paper envelope containing play money–a traditional token of good fortune.
This festival is being hosted by the Waldorf School's International Program and will offer the public an opportunity to see how Waldorf students learn about and engage with world cultures. There will be an opportunity for questions and conversations about Waldorf education at the end of the festival for those who want to learn more.
The school is located at 359 Turtle Lane, Shelburne. RSVPs are appreciated. You can register online www.lakechamplainwaldorfschool.org or call Pam Graham (802) 985-2827 ext. 212.
