Neighbors, please come if you are able.
Bill McKibben is presenting Rising Tide VT with the Peace & Justice Center's Activist Award. As with all good revolutionary events, we will have great food and music. The evening will start with a chili buffet dinner, cash bar and silent auction. After the award presentation, we will celebrate with a dance party with Afro-cumbia band Mal Maiz. The event is on Thursday, January 19, at the ECHO Center in Burlington. Doors open at 5:30. Presentations are at 7:00. Dancing starts at 8:00.
I think it is going to be an uplifting, community-building event that many people, myself included, will be craving pre-inauguration!
Tickets start at $25 but anyone who cannot afford that should contact us. Here is a link to more information about tickets and the event as a whole:

I know I am really excited to hear Bill McKibben, Anne and Oren from Global Justice Ecology Project, and folks from Rising Tide speak, to eat great food with wonderful people, and to dance to an amazing band. It's going to be a really special night.
