Whether you have never danced Contra or Square, have very little experience, are an intermediate, or seasoned dancer; the monthly (2nd Saturdays) dance in Cabot VT is a treat. The Willey Building (also houses the Cabot Library - downstairs), right in the center of town is one of the most enjoyable venues for these dances. Karen is the caller. She is very sensitive to dancers' levels of experience & is capable of calling a dance that any number of folks can join in on. You just can't find another place that is so much the essence of these dances. Although there is typically some bottle water available, many choose to bring their favorite juice/tea/soda. As is the case for most of these dances, you are obligated to bring some "non street shoes" so as to help preserve the beautiful wood floor. Unlike some venues; never too crowded, and folks are quiet & respectful enough (during the caller's explanation of the upcoming dance) that you can actually hear what she's saying. Donation is $5/person, $15/family. WAY worth it.
