A Workshop for Students and Parents of 9th-11th graders

Are you wondering when and where to begin?
Why does starting early make sense?
Do you know what colleges are looking for?
Are you aware of what resources are available, many at no cost?
Do you know how to make this a (relatively) stress-free process?

Choosing a college where your son or daughter will thrive depends on finding schools that are the "best fit." With so many colleges to choose from, narrowing down your choices can be quite challenging. This workshop will help you navigate the college application and search process. We will cover the steps to take, how to get the most from college visits, what helps one stand out from the applicant pool and much more.

Penny Klein has spent her entire professional life as an educator working with high school students. As an English teacher and school counselor for over 20 years, she gained extensive knowledge about the “ins and outs” of the college admissions process. Since 2011, Penny and Sugar Maple College Consulting have been helping students find colleges that are a good fit: academically, socially, culturally and financially. As one of her students said: “Penny opened my eyes to my options and got me excited about my future.”

Essex Parks and Recreation is sponsoring this workshop which will be held on Tuesday Feb. 7th 6:30pm - 8:00pm at Memorial Hall in Essex. Please pre-register via their website or by calling (802) 878-1342
