I'm posting this because I think music and dance are wonderful ways to bring out the best in families. Is there music in your family? Here's an opportunity to share it with others...or simply come out to see how other families enjoy time together through music and dancing.
This Friday, Woodbury Strings will present another "Contradance Cabaret" featuring Indian food by Chef Zach and contradancing with caller, Lausanne Allen at the Schoolhouse Learning Center (8 Catkin Drive off of Dorset Street and Midland Ave in South Burlington). There will be a Family Open Mic that anyone of any age or experience level is welcome to perform at, and the music for the contradance will be provided by the Woodbury Strings "Mega Jam Band" which is an open band for acoustic string players. 4 - 6 pm Indian food with Chef Zach (see prices and menu on poster or website)
5 - 6 pm Family Open Mic (acoustic only--all ages! solos, duos, trios, family bands, etc. all encouraged to perform!)
6 - 7:30 Contradance with Lausanne Allen. Acoustic string players are encouraged to sit in with the band (learn tunes while sitting in!-tune list and guidelines on the website, www.woodburystrings.com)
