Ever notice how perfect the food looks in the grocery store? Not every tomato, banana and pepper grow that way. What do you think happens to the produce which doesn't 'look normal'? Unfortunately tons of perfectly good food goes to waste because of unrealistic ideals, even though we have millions of hungry people.

On January 26th at 7pm the Jericho Energy Task Force will be hosting their Winter Movie, 'Just Eat It', at Deborah Rawson Memorial Library in conjunction with the Chittenden Solid Waste District. A documentary winner of multiple film-making awards, the producers explore the issue of food waste from farmers to retail establishments. Come watch, learn and enjoy light refreshments with members of our community to find out where the waste goes. Speaking of waste . . . please bring your own bowls and cups!
