The Rotary Club of Essex serves and draws members from the communities of Essex, Essex Junction, Jericho, Underhill, and Westford. The Club’s 60 members gather on Wednesdays at noon at The Essex Culinary Resort and Spa.
Between July 2015 and June 2016 Club members raised $37,100 at three major fund raisers and through donations for scholarships. The generosity of the sponsors of the Essex Rotary Golf Tournament (June) and the Essex Rotary All-Star Hockey Classic (March) lead the way.
The Club quickly put this money to work with decisions made by our committees: International, Literacy, Local Services, National, Scholarship, and Youth Services.
The current Rotary International theme – Rotary Serving Humanity – aligns well with Essex Rotary. Beyond our fund raising and donations, projects involve Club members with the Heavenly Food Pantry, the Essex Senior Holiday Luncheon, Salvation Army bell ringing, and the recognition dinner honoring exemplary community service by Essex High School students.
