On Saturday January 14th in the Monkton school gym the Cub Scouts are having a "Campout in the Gym" This is open to any Monkton family with children in K-5th grade.

We have been doing this event for over 5 years and it has become a favorite tradition. We used to pop up tents as part of the campout theme, but the crowd has become too large. We lay out our sleeping pads and bags and "campout" The evening starts at 6:30. Kids (with some help) can make English muffin pizzas for themselves and their family After dinner we will have a campfire, some stories and maybe a smore.

At 8:00 pm we get our sleeping bags out (or camp chairs if you would rather sit) and watch a movie.

After the movie (around 10:00 pm) it's lights out and good night.

Sunday morning it's a quick clean-up and go.

There is no charge for this event. The Monkton Cub Scouts have a great time doing all sorts of activities throughout the year and would love to have you join us.

Please let me know if you are planning on attending and how many of you will be coming. We want to make sure we have enough food.

Hope to see you there. It's a lot of fun for the kids, and the parents.
