On Sunday, January 15, communities across our country will stand in solidarity and participate in a Day of Action - “Our First Stand: Save Health Care” and I’m excited to be hosting the Vermont event in Burlington.
Please help us take a stand and make sure Vermont’s voice is heard by joining me for this important rally organized by Rights and Democracy. Joining me will be speakers from Vermont Health Care for All, AFT-VT, VT Federation of Nurses & Health Professionals, Vermont Alliance of Retired Americans, and Vermonters who are scared about losing their health insurance coverage.
Our First Stand: Save Health Care Rally

Our own Senator Sanders, who has taken the lead in calling for this day of action, will be speaking at a solidarity rally in Michigan to highlight the Republican plan that will put insurance companies back in charge by repealing patient protections and many insurance subsidies. We can’t sit idly by while they take away health care coverage for over 30 million Americans by dismantling the health care system and ending guaranteed Medicare benefits by converting Medicare into a voucher program. The Republican plan threatens nursing home care for over 4 million seniors by slashing Medicaid and dramatically increases prescription drug prices for seniors and the disabled.
Vermont’s voice must be heard in this debate. Please join me, and Americans around the country, in this day of action and share this Facebook event with your friends and family on social media.
