“Klaatu…Barada….Nikto:” unforgettable words for anyone who has seen “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” one of the great sci-fi films. This 1951 film, which soon amassed a cult following, will be showing on Friday, January 13 at 7:00 as part of the Maple Corner Community Center’s film series. A UFO lands in Washington D.C., discharging a visitor from another planet (Michael Rennie) who has come to warn the denizens of earth that they face self-destruction. It also stars Patricia Neal and Sam Jaffe. Film showings will be presented on the second Friday of each month through April, with an introduction and a post-film discussion led by Rick Winston. Admission is by donation. Bring your friends...we've been having really good attendance and discussions.
