Happy New Year from the U-32 School Board. The School Board met in late December and received preliminary numbers for the 2017-2018 budget from the administration. Because of a tricky combination of a projected increase in student special services next year and a projected decrease in overall student population, these numbers reflect reductions in teaching and administrative positions. The Board will meet again on Wednesday, January 4th at 6:00 pm to possibly finalize the budget (proposed budgets are due to town clerks on January 16th.) We invite the public to attend our meeting, as this will be an opportunity to understand the current budget information, consider the administration’s latest recommendations and weigh in.
