Film and Storytelling: Everything is Illuminated

Past event
Jan 12, 2017, 6:30 to 9:30 PM

Liev Schreiber's "Everything is Illuminated" begins in goofiness and ends in silence and memory. How it gets from one to the other is the subject of the film, a journey undertaken by three men and a dog into the secrets of the past. Join us for a showing of this film adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's novel of the same name. With Elijah Wood and Eugene Hutz of Gogol Bordello fame.
Afterwards we will gather to illuminate our own heritage.
Everyone is encouraged to bring an object, a photo or a story of a recent or long-ago ancestor. We will create our own collection for the evening and share our stories.
Tickets are $5 suggested donation per person.
At Beth Jacob Synagogue, 10 Harrison Avenue, Montpelier.
