Animal House to Our House
Preservation Burlington is pleased to announce that award-winning writer and DIY expert Ron Tanner will be coming to Burlington to offer a comic monologue about his funny, heart-warming book From Animal House to Our House: A Love Story. Combining romance with history and humor, Tanner tells the true story of how he and his wife bought condemned property -- a wrecked former frat house -- and restored it to its original Victorian splendor. They knew nothing about fixing up houses when they started. In 2008, THIS OLD HOUSE magazine featured their remarkable work. They now run Houselove.org, a DIY website. Tanner's talk includes an impressive slide show. This event is Co-hosted by Preservation Burlington.

Tour One of Burlington’s Most Hauntingly Beautiful Cemeteries!
Preservation Burlington invites you to enjoy the season with a tour of Greenmount Cemetery. This historic cemetery contains the final resting place of Ethan Allen, his brother Ira, and other members of the Allen clan. Also buried there are the parents of First Lady Grace Goodhue Coolidge, who was born in Burlington and later married President Calvin Coolidge in her parent’s home at 312 Maple Street. Preservation Burlington tour guides will show you through the cemetery while pointing out interesting facts about Greemount’s graves and those who are buried there. The cemetery is located on the east side of Colchester Avenue, just north of University Road, which is the entrance to the University of Vermont's Centennial athletic field.
