Come for a guided First Day Hike at Vermont's newest state park, the Taconic Mountains Ramble, in Hubbardton. This property was generously donated to the State by Kit and Mickie Davidson for all to enjoy. The hike is 2-3 hours on easy to moderately difficult terrain and will be followed by fresh cookies as a reward. Please meet at the Hubbardton Battlefield parking area on Monument Hill Road. We will walk from there to the park and up Zion Major for a view back to the Battlefield. Snowshoes are recommended in case of deeper snow. Well-behaved dogs that are friendly with people and other dogs are welcome on a leash. The hike will be guided by the resident park manager and state bat biologist, Alyssa Bennett.
