First Night North in St. Johnsbury is all set for its 24th annual festival of the arts. The biggest family-friendly New Year's Eve celebration around starts at 4 o’clock on Saturday, December 31st, for eight solid hours of great entertainment: over 60 unique acts by over 300 artists perform in over 100 shows for toddlers and teens and adults of all ages. 
One in three acts make their First Night debut this year. Just to name a few: There’s classical music by the Green Mountain Youth Symphony, and the Highlands View String Ensemble. Bluesy stylings by Annie & the Hedonists and the Mike Goudreau Acoustic Duo. Songs from around the world by the Newark Balkan Chorus and Village Harmony. Laugh with the new Catamount Comedy Show.
Enjoy familiar favorites like Bob Amos & Catamount Crossing. Be amazed and amused by The Nimble Arts Ruckus Circus, Magic and hypnosis shows by Marko Fire dancing on the street by Phoenix Bazaar. Get out of your seat to dance to Big Band Swing or classic rock ‘n roll Kids, bounce the night away and enjoy tons of fun at the Family Fun Fair. Everyone, greet 2017 at the spectacular midnight fireworks.
