Volunteer birders and nature enthusiasts are invited to participate in Northeast Kingdom Audubon's Barnet Christmas Bird Count on New Year's Day. The Count covers parts of Barnet, Peacham, Danville, St. Johnsbury, Waterford, Monroe, and Lyman. Get out and enjoy the fresh winter air or count all you see at your bird feeders. Your observations will contribute to a 117-year-old citizen science project throughout the Western Hemisphere, helping scientists to understand population and distribution trends in our bird species, including measuring the impact of climate change.
