Make Memories While Making a Wish Come True
CVU’s Business Ethics class is hosting their 9th Annual Family Formal, a friendly and fun dance that brings families together from towns around Chittenden County and beyond! The event has primarily appealed to elementary kids and their families, but we are more than happy for younger and older children to come as well. The dance will be held in the CVU Cafeteria from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2017. Tickets will be sold for $15 per adult, $10 per child, with a $50 max for a family of four or more. The class’s goal is to raise $10,000, all of which will be donated to the Make-a-Wish Foundation to grant a child’s wish. To order tickets, you can purchase tickets at the door or email bbrogna@cssu.org for a ticket order form.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Vermont is a non-profit organization that serves the entire state of Vermont. It grants wishes to children who attain life-threatening medical conditions who are between the ages of 2 to 18 years old. Since 1989 this organization has bypassed their patients’ discouragement and it has been overcome by granting wishes that they have requested. Their purpose is to grant the wishes of children to enhance the human experience with optimism, strength and happiness. With fulfillment to any child’s wish can be a meaningful and heartwarming experience that can be both beneficial to the child, and the family. An average wish adds up to nearly $10,000. The organization receives no state or federal funding and is solely funded by generous donations by individuals, corporations, small businesses and special events. Every dollar donated is one worth spent.
Business Ethics is a class at CVU that focuses on business ethics and social responsibility. A major part of the class is developing a sense of social responsibility in future businessmen and women. This event is the direct result of all the work and commitment put in by the Business Ethics students: Tristan Nagiba, Spencer Snipes, Kyle Roy, Roarke Flad, Gerald Berkowitz, Caden Frost, Zachary Toensing, Dillon Hamrell, Max Hamrell, Sara Holm, David Huber, Jonah Breen, Cody Fournier, Kyle Gorman, Jack Caswell, Nicholas Kinneston, Will Hubbard, Kaelen Murdock, Clara Schultz, Jacob Bouffard, Kylee Hope, Connor Abrahams, Robert Edson,
The class is still searching for local business donations to help cover the cost of food and decorations, and to be sold in our silent auction. Donation checks can be made payable to CVU and mailed to Tamie-Jo Dickinson, CVU High School, 369 CVU Road, Hinesburg, VT 05461. Any food or door prize donations can be arranged with a pick-up time. All businesses will be recognized the night of the event and in advertisements for the event. Also, all donations are a tax deduction.
Anyone who cannot attend the dance but would like to make a financial donation can do so by making checks payable to CVU, and mailing them to Tamie-Jo Dickinson, CVU High School, 369 CVU Road, Hinesburg, VT 05461.
We look forward to seeing you all Sunday, January 15, 2017 at our 9th Annual Family Formal in the CVU Cafe!
