This Transition Town Montpelier talk will cover the Zero Waste Hierarchy, challenge the idea of the three Rs of reduce, reuse, and recycle, and give examples of strategies to move together towards zero waste.

Originally from Sweden, Lisa Bjerke gained her interest in discarded resource management while working as the compost manager during her undergraduate studies at College of the Atlantic. She received a Watson Fellowship in 2013 to travel to Germany, India, China, and Japan, exploring human conceptions of waste and resources.

Location is at the Vermont League of Cities and Towns at City Center at State and Main in Montpelier. This event is free and open to the public.
