“My Addresses in Amsterdam: the Making of a Novel"

Past event
Dec 15, 2016, 7 to 8:30 PM

The Jewish Community of Greater Stowe (JCOGS) presents author Mary Fillmore who will trace her journey with Holocaust Resistance and the Netherlands, on Thursday evening December 15th at 7pm.

After falling in love with the city of Amsterdam, Fillmore discovered that she was living inside the Nazi-designated Jewish Quarter, and that roundups had been conducted literally on her doorstep. That shock led to 13 years of research in Amsterdam’s museums, archives, and historic sites, as well at the Holocaust Museum in Washington and the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles.

On Thursday evening, December 15th at 7pm at JCOGS, Mary Fillmore will illustrate her discoveries with passages from her historical novel, "An Address in Amsterdam," and talk about historical fiction as inspired by research.

The Jewish Community of Greater Stowe (JCOGS) is located at 1189 Cape Cod Road in Stowe. This lecture is free, accessible, and all are welcome. Light refreshments and conversation will follow the program. To learn more about Mary Fillmore, see her website: http://maryfillmore.com
