City Hall Park Plan Comes to Your NPA Dec. 14

Ward 1, Ward 8 NPA Meeting: Wednesday Dec 14th: Note early time, 6.30 p.m. start!
We'll meet in the UVM Medical Center's McClure lobby Conference Room, free parking in the McClure garage courtesy of UVM MC.

The City had no intention of bringing their Great Streets / City Hall Park re-envisioning to our NPA but, thanks to the work of "Keep The Park Green" and Cllr Adam Roof, there will be an early start to Wednesday's Meeting to accommodate the City's about face on this - thanks, in the end, to them.
There is also a strong original agenda including a YMCA update from President Kyle Dodson, news from CATMA and an invitation to contribute to pedestrian & cyclist safety at the I89 interchange with Williston Road. Full agenda:

6.30 p.m.: Welcome and Introductions
6.35: City Hall Park / Great Streets presentation from Meagan Tuttle, Planning & Zoning
6.55: "Keep The Park Green": Response from Carolyn Bates, Lynn Martin
7.15: City Council updates: Sharon Bushor, Selene Colburn, Adam Roof
7.30: Speak Out
7.45: Greater Burlington YMCA President Kyle Dodson with an update on future plans.
8.10: CATMA Director Sandy Thibault with a news of CATMA's expansion in Chittenden County and other updates.
8.35: South Burlington's Ashley Parker brings us ideas on pedestrian and cyclist safety for the redesign of the Williston Road interchange with I 89. East District input and insights especially welcomed.
9.00 p.m. Close

Two really important requests!
~Note the 6.30 p.m. starting time. City Hall Plans are well advanced to comprehensively redesign the Park as we know it, with dozens of trees to be removed and thoroughfares to be introduced to better link adjacent streets. For better or for worse is for us to decide but this is on a very fast (too fast?) track with Public Comment closing Dec 16th. Please join us with your thoughts on all this.
And Ward 8 neighbors of the new YMCA venue are especially urged to engage with Pres Dodson's latest plans for the building, traffic and parking.

All are enthusiastically invited, especially interested in neighbor's views on City Hall Park redesign. Look forward to seeing you there.

Dana Kamencik, Ward 1 NPA Steering Committee
Emily Lee, Ward 8 Steering Committee
Richard Hillyard, Ward 1
