Irish Music and Dance Holiday Show

Past event
Dec 17, 2016, 7 to 8:30 PM

On Saturday, December 17th there's a fun performing arts event that I think would be appealing to all ages (well, all ages that can make it up past 7PM!). The Irish group the MacLean Avenue Band will be coming to the Spruce Peak Performing Arts center for the night with their fun mix of instrumental work, songs (usually some traditional as well as a carol or two), storytelling and dancing. And this year they will (again) welcome Waterbury's Green Mountain Performing Arts (GMPA) Celtic dance troupe to the stage for several numbers as well. Our local dancers (which include one of my daughters -- no bias here!) range in age from 9 to 17 and it is a great joy to watch their feet fly as they reel and jig around the stage. Tickets range in price from $20 to $50, but there's a cool thing where, if you buy 4 or more tickets, there's a 25% savings (Family 4-pack deal). If you haven't been to Spruce Peak before, there's not a bad seat in the house -- it's a lovely, intimate space (so there's not really a need to spring for the most expensive seats anyway). Here's a link for more info and to buy tickets: http://www.sprucepeakarts.org/event/mclean-avenue-band/ Hope to see you there!
