Join the community at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the newly renovated Performing Arts Center at Colchester High School on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 7:00 PM.

In March of 2016, Colchester School District asked voters for their permission to use the leftover money from the the science construction bond towards renovating the aging Performing Arts Center at Colchester High School. The voters said yes, and work began in June, just days after graduation. The space is now complete and will be honored in a grand community unveiling.

Up until this renovation, the theater and its technology was nearly original to the construction date of 1975. It now boasts all new flooring, seating, paint, acoustic panels, curtains, lighting and sound technology, and an upgrade to the ventilation system.

In addition to vast district and school uses, the Performing Arts Center is also utilized by many different organizations and community members; all of which will benefit from such substantiation improvements.

The ribbon cutting ceremony is expected to last approximately 30 minutes and will include a musical introduction by students, a community appreciation video from faculty and students, and several brief speeches from Superintendent Amy Minor; CHS Principal, Heather Baron; and CSD School Board Chair, Mike Rodgers.

Immediately following the ceremony, the Colchester Community Chorus will perform their annual winter concert.

Come check out the new space and stay for some festive music! We hope to see you there!
