Dec 19, 2016, 8:30 to 10:30 PM

Socially Irresponsible is a sketch comedy group made up of Vermont based comedians, filmmakers, and writers creating professionally produced filmed sketches. This winter they will be touring 50 minutes of filmed sketches paired with live stand up comedy with a statewide tour. The the tour will come to the Savoy Theater in Montpelier for 2 nights on 19th & 20th of December starting at 8:30pm.

All of the sketches were filmed in Vermont, with locations at Black Bear Biodiesel in Plainfield, the Cornerstone Pub and Kitchen in Barre, and Studio Zenith in Montpelier, viewers are sure to recognize some familiar settings. Each sketch examines a different topic ranging from critiques on privacy in a world where so much of our information is accessible online, to the internal culture at food coops and the more judgemental side of yoga classes, with a satirical news segment covering politics from the past year.

Executive Producer, Mathieu Ferguson attended Vancouver Film School in Vancouver Canada, where he learned the craft of filmmaking. He’s worked on features, short films, music videos and documentaries since moving to Vermont 5 years ago. Together with Ashley Watson and Sean Williams, Matt has brought together local talent to take a step away from live performance, and try their humour in front of the camera. For many of the comics it will be their foray into sketch comedy writing, including Montpelier based Bryanna Doe, who will be featured in the live stand up showcase in Montpelier, along with Maggie Lenz, to name a couple. The full line-up and details for future shows on the tour can be found on the Socially Irresponsible facebook page.
