The Montpelier Chamber Orchestra will perform Beethoven¹s Symphony No. 8 at the former One More Time storefront on Main St. in Montpelier at 6 PM on December 6. This is a FREE downtown pop-up concert, to be followed by a reception.
As many music lovers in the area know, MCO's fall concert at the Vermont College of Fine Arts on November 6 was interrupted by a rogue fire alarm. MCO Music Director Anne Decker offers this unusual concert as a chance for the players and the orchestra to revive some of the experience that was lost last month. People are welcome to drop in for a single movement or the entire symphony. After the Beethoven, musicians and the audience will gather for food and beverages donated by orchestra members and Montpelier businesses.
Established in 1994, the Montpelier Chamber Orchestra inspires and enriches Central Vermont audiences with performances of new and traditional chamber and orchestral music. Attracting the region¹s finest amateur and professional musicians, MCO performs two concerts each year. With a mission to share music throughout the community, MCO musicians work in local schools, play at public events, and strive to make classical music available and accessible to everyone.
MCO thanks Tim Heney and the owners of One More Time for making the space available for this public event.
