at the Everything Space in Montpelier, 64 Main Street, 3rd floor.

Amanda Franz and Heidi Wilson are holding auditions for The Woven Body Choir, a volunteer performance ensemble focused on exploring the relationship of sound, bodies and environment. This ensemble is coming together to create a site-specific outdoor performance in the greater Montpelier area with performances in early June. We are inspired to create a participatory performance where performers and audience members are invited to listen in more fully to the stories of place and time and how those stories are a part of and take place in our bodies.

Performance is loosely structured as a moving piece, with audience and performers traversing land with story, song, sound and movement inviting a deepening of relationship with self and place. .
Ensemble members will be guided through embodied improvisation and movement scores at rehearsals to develop a common language from which the piece will be crafted.
Ensemble members will be singing in rich harmony and tight rhythms, as well as moving from organic, emotional and physical states.

Artistic influences include Body Mind Centering, Butoh, Rhiannon's Vocal River work, and Participatory Art.

Rehearsal schedule/expectations:
3 hour rehearsals twice a month through the winter and spring
More in final weeks before performance
Weekend retreat Jan 20-22

Performances:
June 3-4

Audition Structure:
Interested artists are invited to come to either evening to participate in a movement/sound workshop facilitated by Franz and Wilson.
