The annual tradition of Santa's visit to Rusty Parker Park is happening on Sunday, December 11th from 3-5 pm. The Waterbury Rotary Club is happy to welcome the jolly fellow and his elves to bring cheer to children and adults. Santa will be riding through the village on a horse drawn wagon and arriving shortly after 3pm. Kids can visit with Santa in his sleigh, tell him their wish list, and have their photo taken (bring your own camera). Santa will have a surprise for them also.
This is a festive occasion for all, and it's free! There will be cookies you can decorate, hot chocolate, and holiday music. Come enjoy a wagon ride around the park behind a team of hansom work horse. Then warm up by a fire pit and enjoy a treat. The park will be festively decorated for the occasion, and we're hoping for some snow on the ground.
Speaking of festive decorations, the Rotary club is again lighting up the "tree" behind Thatcher Brook school, a tradition that goes back many, many years.
