Local friends: Top Ten Rumored Reasons to Come to This, An Evening at the Library, on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 6:30 p.m.
Rumor has it:
1. It's all about supporting the Kellogg Hubbard Library! Need I say more?
2. Once a year, the KHL chooses someone to honor: This year, it's Vermont author Rowan Jacobsen (!), who's just a great writer and an all around great guy (okay, and my husband). Need I say more?
3. The evening will be catered by Gretchen Saries and Greg LaBarthe of Bon Temps Gourmet. Need I say more?
4. Live jazz music. Need I say more?
5. It's a Gala, in Vermont. Need I say more?
6. There will be an auction of donated items. Need I say more?
7. One item up for silent auction is a limited-edition hand-set letterpress broadside of my poem "Water Views," of which there are only 7 in existence. I needn't say more.
8. From picture books to read-alouds to chapter books to graphic novels to novels to poetry to biographies to science to research to home renovation books to magazines to videos, the KHL has offered so much to my family and community. How about you?
9. Because of the KHL we have PoemCity. Need I say more?
10. We'd be so happy to see our neighborhood friends there, being friends of the Kellogg-Hubbard Library, all dressed up with somewhere special to go!
Admission, which supports the Kellogg-Hubbard Library, is $60 per person and can be purchased at the adult circulation desk.
