All-Day Writing Circle Offered

Past event
Dec 4, 2016, 10 AM to 4 PM

Take Time for Reflection at an All Day Writing Workshop on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 10 until 4.

The Rosefire Writing Circle provides a safe space and supportive group for automatic writing practice. In timed writing exercises designed to prime the creative pump, writers focus and fly, letting loose the unknown in the wonder of words. We immediately read this new work, bearing witness to the strange and wonderful stories that emerge. A synergy develops in these workshops, where participants invariably write more, write better, and write with greater confidence.

The prompts spark surprises. The simple acts of writing in a safe place surrounded by others engaged in the same activity, and doing so against the limits of the clock, combine to promote creativity that is difficult to attain or sustain by oneself. Reading this new work aloud and listening to others is yet another affirmation of oneself as a writer and that one’s words matter.

I will provide prompts and encouragement to get pens rolling, and I will moderate the reading, fostering an affirming community of auditory witnesses. We’ll enjoy a potluck at lunch; tea water and snacks will be available throughout the day.

Space is limited and registration is required.
The cost for the day is $75.
Email me for registration instructions, directions, and questions.

This writing workshop offers an opportunity for creativity and calm as daylight dwindles. We’ll use this day to kindle our interior light to illuminate a path through the cold and dark season ahead.
