Audubon's 117th Christmas Bird Count is fast approaching and the Mad Birders are looking for interested people to volunteer as a feeder watcher or a team member this year. Count day is Friday, December 16th. We are looking for people to join teams that scout different sectors of our circle -- its a lot of fun to spend the day with other birders! Our circle includes parts of the Mad River Valley, Roxbury, Northfield and Berlin Pond. Teams bird for the day (typically from 8 AM to 4 PM). If staying home is more your speed, join as a feeder watcher by reporting what you see at your feeders. A fun potluck is held at the end of the Count Day. We are holding a pre-event potluck dinner on Tuesday Nov 29 for orientation. Not required, but its a good way to learn more.
